Back in July, Bobby Smyth represented Ireland for the 2010 MTBO World Championship, held in Portugal. Bobby has put together an excellent detailed report and if you dash over to the Trailblazers MTBO website, you can read it there. Currently the World MTBO Championships are taking place over in Montalegre, Portugal. Bobby Smyth is representing Ireland at the event and is being supported and cheered on by his wife and young family. Great news on the MTBO front is that local rider Bobby Smyth has been selected to represent Ireland at this year’s World Mountainbike Orienteering Championships in Portugal. Now under their 2nd year of sponsorship from Buff, team “Average Joes in the Buff” kicked off its Rat Race Weekender season over the 5th-6th June in Bristol. The north coast of Antrim was the location for the final round of the Trailblazer/MTBO trailquest series. I was half expecting Noah and his ark of animals to slowly float pass the window, the rain was that heavy. So, from a planner’s point of view; how did it go?
