The 13th Setanta Rogaine took place last weekend. It’s a brilliant event and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to challenge their endurance and navigation skills. It is one of those events that each team can push their own limits; whether just plog along, run it, take a few hours sleep or go for broke and keep moving all night. The tactical options are endless and that is why it attracts a wide range of adventure athletes.
Of course, there is a bit of suffering involved and 24 hours on your feet, moving over mountainous terrain, doesn’t do them any favors. Between the aches and pains, writing a report is a bit slow, but I’m getting there…however one thing to mention were the great results from the teams north of the border. Members from BARF, LVO, NWOC and Physio & Co took 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th places. Eoin Keith and Chris Caulfield dominated the course and it was a popular win for the local team….Eoin must have his name on the Setanta Rogaine Perpetual Trophy at least a half dozen times. So report to follow soon, but make sure you leave room in your diary for the end of June 2011 and enter this tremendous event.

Thinking of you guys over the weekend – sounds like you had fun out there. Hope to get back to Ireland some day and get that cup back off Mr Keith
